About Samiha Jalal 's work:
Photo Theme:
A visual celebration of the soulful connection between flavor and culture through the vibrant energy of chips Masala
Photo Story:
I captured this photo of Chips Masala at a small local restaurant — a humble dish, sizzling hot from the kitchen, its spicy aroma filling the room before it even hit the table.

This wasn’t just food; it was a moment. A reminder of spontaneous evenings with friends, loud laughter over shared plates, and that familiar tingle of chili and tang on your tongue. The vibrant colors, the chaos of textures — they mirror the energy of local food culture: bold, unapologetic, and full of life.

I wanted the viewer to feel the heat, see the crunch, and smell the spice. Through this frame, I invite you to taste not just the dish, but the story it carries — of community, comfort, and the timeless joy of digging into something delicious with your hands.
How long has Samiha Jalal loved photography:
20 months ie 1 and 1/2 years
How they discovered their passion for photography:
Photography wasn’t something I planned to pursue as a career. At first, it wasn’t about making money or building a name for myself — it just happened. The first time I picked up a camera at an event, I didn’t really know what I was doing. But as I started taking photos, something about it felt good — natural, even. I was enjoying the process more than I expected. Capturing real moments, emotions, and small details felt fulfilling in a way I hadn’t felt before. That experience made me realize that photography was more than just fun — it was something I wanted to keep doing, to grow with, and to see where it could take me. It became a passion without me even trying to find one.
