About Benjamin Gachari's work:
Photo Theme:
The Unifying Joy of Worship
Photo Story:
Sunday, 11th August 2024. Ridgeways Baptist Church was bursting with energy. The moment Israel Mbonyi took the microphone, the atmosphere shifted voices rose, hands lifted, and hearts seemed to beat in the same rhythm. It was worship without walls where strangers became family, and music became the bridge between us and God.

What inspired me to take this photo was the raw, unfiltered joy on people’s faces. You could see it in every smile, every raised hand, every tear proof that worship unites us no matter who we are or where we come from. In that moment, the music wasn’t just a performance it was an invitation, reminding us we all have access to Him.

And here’s a fun twist: the lady dancing to the left of Israel Mbonyi in the white jacket is Joy Wanje, the wife of RBC’s senior pastor Elijah Wanje. So yes in the middle of capturing joy, I also captured Joy.

This is what I see in this photo: the joy of music, the unity of faith, and the beauty of worship that brings us all home.
How long has Benjamin Gachari loved photography:
Since high school I’ve got funny photos of me and my friends back in high school 😅 so yeah
I would say approximately now 7 years
How they discovered their passion for photography:
Through my mom she loved capturing everything thing she could and all she wanted was to freeze that moment in time and enjoy for the rest of her life
