Photo Story:
The sun was high over the city, baking the artificial turf until it smelled like new sneakers and ambition. On Pitch 4, the midday heat didn’t matter to Maya. At almost two years old, the world was mostly grass, giant fences, and the gold-and-black ball that seemed to have a mind of its own.
"Ready, Maya? Use your laces, not your toes," her mother, Sarah, called out.
Sarah leaned forward, her hands on her knees, watching with the focused intensity of a professional scout. In reality, she was just a tired mom who had spent twenty minutes convincing Maya that her red tracksuit was her "superhero uniform."
Maya took a deep breath, her tiny pink braids bouncing as she found her footing. To her, the distance between them felt like a mile-long stadium. She looked at the ball, then at her mom’s encouraging grin, and let out a determined "Hah!" as she charged forward.

How they discovered their passion for photography:
I didn't just wake up one day and decide to be a photographer; I think I just got tired of seeing beautiful moments disappear.
It started a few years back during a family trip. Everyone was busy talking and eating, but I noticed the way the light was hitting the steam rising off a coffee mug and the way my grandmother was laughing in the background. It was a perfect, quiet loop of a moment. I snapped a photo with my phone, and for the first time, I realized I could freeze time.
I started small, mostly chasing shadows and interesting textures on my walks. I realized that the camera acted like a "second set of eyes." It forced me to slow down and actually look at the world instead of just moving through it.
