About Lawrence Ngugi's work:
Photo Theme:
Nature’s Quiet Brilliance
Photo Story:
I took this photo during a walk at my workplace here in Nakuru. I was just going about my day when I noticed this beautiful burst of color among the branches. The bird was so calm, almost like it knew how stunning it looked, while the light filtered softly through the trees.

What really inspired me was the contrast — the quietness of the environment and then this bold, vibrant life right in the middle of it. Especially since I recently moved here from the city, moments like this feel different. It reminded me that even in silence, nature still finds a way to stand out. I just wanted to capture that exact moment where simplicity meets something truly striking.
How long has Lawrence Ngugi loved photography:
For as long as I can remember. Mostly nature photography as documented in my Instagram, hobby turned skill. Oooh, and that is just the tip of the iceberg, I have so many more.
How they discovered their passion for photography:
The moment technology provided something that imitates the eye, and you can actually keep a copy of what you see! I fell in love instantly because the earth is so beautiful.

I also work as the creative media and communications officer of an esteemed international school in Nakuru therefore, photography is among my everyday task.
